As he scatted and wove his way through his final number, backec by a crisp All-Star Jazz Trio, Tormé hit moments...that showed he hasn't lost his voice or his deft, punchy touch.

Monday night he and the crack trio - Donny Osborne on drums, John Leitham on bass and Mike Renzi on piano - treated the Austin audience to a delightful hour.

The audience treated him in return to raptuous applause and a showering of roses after one of several encores.
