...they were accompanied by a 17 piece big band that featured a Reading area native: the amazingly gifted bass player John Leitham.
Leitham displayed his talents on the acoustic bass many times throughout the evening, perhaps most stunningly in a duet with McGovern - Cole Porter's "My Heart Belongs To Daddy," in which the bass played a seductive role - and in Tormé's tour de force arrangement of Duke Ellington's "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing."
